What the notice actually said

Nearly 3,000 names left the registry. Duffy-era TPR sweep: about 3,000 providers removed for falsified data, missing curriculum, facilities, or instructors, or refused records. Another about 4,500 got proposed-removal notices — 30 days to prove compliance.

The registry had about 16,000 names at the start of the review. This is the first pass, not the last. Self-certification only works if someone audits. This release is that audit starting to bite.

The 75-school HSI investigation is a criminal and enforcement flavor. This is the registry hygiene pass. Both can be true. Combined with the later “75 schools” headline, the message to a recruiter is: read the school, not the certificate paper.
