FY25 FMCSA grants are for states and nonprofits — not a check to MC# 875229 for a drop yard

FY25 High Priority ITD and CMV Safety grants — potentially $90M-plus, due June 20, 2025 — are for states and nonprofits, not a Lake Bluff drop yard.

What the notice actually said

A broker forwarded the NOFO and asked whether MC# 875229 could “get some of that parking money.” FMCSA opened FY25 High Priority ITD and CMV Safety grants — potentially $90 million-plus — due 5:00 p.m. ET June 20, 2025.

HP-ITD and HP-CMV fund technology, parking-availability systems, work-zone and corridor safety. The applicant class is states, tribes, nonprofits, and schools. For-profit carriers are not that class.

Applications from an earlier December 19–February 3 window had to be resubmitted. FMCSA said the prior-cycle packets had to go in again under the new notices. That is a grants-office problem, not a load-board problem.

Parking-availability notification is in the ITD purpose statement. That is a public-sector project, not a TA expanding overnight on I-55.

Training grants in the same cycle are for CDL pipelines. They are not our recruiter’s bonus and they are not a reason we become a school.

What it changes on Monday

We will not bid a grant as a service line. We will still plan hours of service as if the lot is full, because a NOFO does not add Illinois spaces this week.

See Pro-Trucker parking money for the later political-season dollars. This page is the FY25 application cycle, not a construction ribbon.

Shippers: appointments beat hunting a space. Deferred loading is the product when the window cannot be made legal inside the 14.

Freight still quotes through Get a Quote. A grant PDF is not a fuel surcharge and it is not a drop-yard subsidy.

What we will — and will not — do

We will not apply for HP-ITD or HP-CMV as a for-profit motor carrier’s drop-yard check. Those pots are not written for MC# 875229.

We will not invoice a “grant offset” or tell a shipper the FY25 cycle cut their rate. We still answer the phone and we still plan the clock.

Dispatch: +1 (847) 702-8181. If you have freight, send the lane. If you have a grant question for a state DOT, call them — not us.

FAQ

Can PRIDEUSA apply?

These HP pots are not written for a for-profit motor carrier’s drop yard. States, tribes, nonprofits, and schools are the applicant class.

Does this add Illinois spaces this week?

No. A NOFO is an application window, not a new lot on I-55 tonight.

Why resubmit?

FMCSA said the earlier December 19–February 3 window’s apps had to be refiled under the new notices. That is a grants-office rule.

Driver training grant?

That is a school or state file, not our CDL mill. We are not a training provider.
