Reefer freight with a desk that treats temperature as part of the job

Chilled and frozen truckload from an asset-based carrier — not a random reefer pulled off a board at 4 p.m. Set the point, say if it needs pre-cool, get a rate in about 30 minutes.

Include required temperature, pre-cool yes/no, and commodity. Dispatch cannot protect a product you did not specify.

Temperature-controlled

Who this reefer service is for

Perishable and temperature-sensitive truckload that has to stay in spec from dock to dock.

PRIDEUSA reefer is asset-based refrigerated truckload out of Lake Bluff, IL (MC# 875229, USDOT# 2486192). Use it for frozen and chilled freight that cannot ride a dry van: food, produce, and other commodities with a real temperature requirement.

We will not invent a multi-temp, food-grade wash, or pharma SOP you did not ask us to confirm. If your account needs a specific unit type, pre-cool window, or pulping protocol, put it on the quote so dispatch can say yes or no against actual equipment — not against a homepage adjective.

Insurance: $1M liability / $100K cargo. Motive ELD on the power units. Rate target on workable lanes: about 30 minutes.

Bring these with the request:

  • Set point (°F) and frozen vs chilled.
  • Pre-cool — yes/no and how long, if you care.
  • Pickup and delivery appointments — reefer that sits is product that drifts.

How we quote it

What we need to protect the product

A reefer rate without a set point is just a dry van number with extra fuel. Send the temperature with the lane.

Write the set point in Fahrenheit on the quote (and whether it is frozen vs chilled). If the product needs the trailer pre-cooled before it touches the dock, say that in the commodity notes — not in a follow-up text after pickup is already late.

Continuous run vs start/stop matters for some shippers. If your SOP requires continuous, put it on the request. We would rather confirm equipment than argue with a receiver about pulp temperatures we never agreed to.

This is truckload reefer, not a LTL cold network and not a warehousing product. Storage questions that are really “hold my pallets for a week” belong on a phone call — we will not pretend a trailer is a DC.

Visibility after pickup: shareable tracking, no extra login — Track Shipment. Brokers who need the packet first: For Brokers.

Set point first

A lane without °F is incomplete. Frozen and chilled are different products and different units of work.

Appointments matter

Reefer waiting on a live dock is how temperature complaints start. Give windows, not “sometime Tuesday.”

Asset-based, not mystery

Our trucks and dispatch. If we cannot cover it cold, you hear that instead of a last-minute swap.

FAQ

Reefer FAQ

Temperature, pre-cool, and booking — not driver recruiting.

What temperatures can you run?

Tell us the required set point on the quote. We match chilled vs frozen to available reefer capacity — we do not publish a fake one-size range that covers every unit.

Do you pre-cool the trailer?

Yes when you ask for it and the pickup window allows it. Put pre-cool on the request so it is part of the plan, not a dock argument.

Is this food-grade / dual-temp / pharma validated?

Those are specific claims. If your shipper requires a wash, dual zone, or a written SOP, say so up front. We will confirm against the actual trailer — we will not check a box we cannot stand behind.

How fast is a reefer rate?

About 30 minutes on lanes we can cover with temperature-controlled equipment. Form on this page or +1 (847) 702-8181.

Can customers track a reefer load?

Yes — shareable link after booking, no portal login. Tracking is location, not a substitute for a temperature recorder if your account requires one. Ask if you need both.

Do you also run dry van if the product can ride ambient?

Yes. If it does not need a set point, dry van is usually the cleaner quote. Do not book reefer “just in case” without saying so.
