What the notice actually said
A hiring clerk in Lake Bluff does not need a new federal clock to understand June 27, 2025. USDOT named the problem as unqualified people getting commercial licenses because states were not checking lawful presence and driving history the way federal CDL rules require.
The tool is a compliance review of State Driver Licensing Agencies. It is not a roadside sticker on every dry van in Joliet, and it is not a surcharge on a Chicago live-load.

We still hire against a license we can verify. An audit of a DMV is not a line item on a rate confirmation, and it does not idle a legal Illinois CDL-A.

Does this cancel U.S. citizen CDLs?
No. It is the non-domiciled issuance file. A citizen CDL issued by a state to a person domiciled there is not the target of this audit.
Will Illinois pickups stop?
No. Quote the lane with a legal truck and a license we can verify. An audit of SDLAs is not a gate on I-55.
